It's been an action-packed few days for the kids, but it couldn't last forever and now we find them bored out of their skulls in Porta Vista. With Moe gone, the titty-show over, and that whole mix-up over being dead behind them, there really isn't much left to do. They had been hoping to catch the ferry to the mainland but missed it, which means they're stuck there for the next three hours.



Pikachu spots a Horsea and points it out to Misty, and Ash checks it out on his Pokédex. This particular one isn't a very impressive specimen though; it has clearly taken a beating from someone, and manages to communicate who did it by spitting out an oily image of what are CLEARLY a Tentacool and Tentacruel.

"I think it's trying to tell us something?" mumbles Ash dumbly, joined in his ignorance by Misty and Brock for once. Misty decides to catch The Horsea to take it to be healed at the local PokéCenter, but before she can.... BOOM! a boat explodes.

Well, that kind of thing happens every day.

The boat is based out by an offshore construction site. Misty sends out Staryu, Starmie and Goldeen to go rescue any survivors, and commands Ash and Brock to get a boat to help out too. They do so in style, stealing yet ANOTHER boat, managing to pick up a paralyzed sailor who mumbles about terror and his boss. Terror? Boss? Well that calls for... Brutella!

The kids are terrified to see her again, especially as for some reason she's surrounded by beautiful boys in briefs. However she introduces herself as Nastina, so it seems she is not the crone who tried to run Moe out of business last episode, but an identical crone (sister or cousin perhaps) who is the sailor's boss. She thanks them for helping her (and makes it sound like an accusation!) and in return Ash asks for a lift to the mainland. Nastina responds angrily, telling him they won't get away that fast, not till they see her new resort. It's being built out on the ocean, a super-luxury hotel, one to end ALL Luxury Hotels! Beneath it, bordering all sides of a massive square of glass is a massive coral reef for Nastina (and her high paying guests) viewing pleasure. But the local Tentacools are attacking the construction site, damaging profits and being an all around nuisance.... they don't even taste good!

Nastina offers Ash, Misty and Brock a job, asking them to get rid of (she literally says EXTERMINATE) the Tentacool in exchange for a year’s worth of food, a million in cash and hotel vouchers. Ash and Brock - being boys - are extremely enticed by this deal, but Misty is having none of it and snaps angrily, actually blasting Nastina back with her rage. She walks out with a furious wriggle of her hips, Nastina grinning nastily and declaring that there goes a girl who can't be bought.

Misty walks on ahead of Ash, Brock and Pikachu, who call after her to wait up, wanting to know what her problem is.
"Doesn't that old woman make you sick!" growls Misty.
"Well, she's not really my type," murmurs dumb ol' Ash.

Misty then explains to Ash (as if Nastina hadn't done a good enough job!) that the old biddy wants to kill all the Tentacool, and they just can't do that, because they're so cute! Ash can't believe that, checking them out with his Pokédex and finding the horrific jellies to be quite ugly. Misty insists though, saying they're squishy and nice when you hold them, which you think at least Brock would find appealing. She then tells them happily how the pretty red spot on their heads is called the Ruby of the Seas, but when Brock asks exactly WHO calls it that, a nervous Misty admits that it's her, she's the one who calls it that.

They decide to go check out Horsea, and find it hanging out in a kiddy wader pool with a sun-bathing Pikachu. The Horsea seems all better, and Brock mentions that the Super-Potion seems to be working. What? What Super-Potion? When did Misty catch Horsea? How come Pikachu is no longer with Ash? Regardless of that, amazingly enough it is Ash who first clicks that Horsea was drawing a Tentacool with its ink earlier. That's about as far as his little head can take him, unfortunately, but Brock fills in the rest - the Tentacools are the ones who paralyzed the sailors and blew up the boat.

Nastina's voice suddenly sounds over loudspeakers all around Porta Vista. Apparently she has decided to make her million dollar bounty on the Tentacools heads public. Misty, however, has faith in human nature, nobody would ever fall as low as to wipe out Pokémon just for money, right? HA! A stampede of money-hungry citizens ploughs right over them, each of them demanding money, money and more money, with some money on the side! Nastina appears in army gear and a tank, and asks who wants to make some money? The answer comes in the form of a rose.... it seems the kids aren't the only ones who have stuck around in Porta Vista!

"Hey!" cries Nastina, "They got a lot of spunk!" Jesse and James are shocked at Nastina's horrendous outfit and hair (or maybe just surprised to see how much she looks like Brutella) and she doesn't take kindly to their insults, blasting them over with her tank and leaving them both offering a delightful view of what they have to offer.

Jesse quickly placates Nastina by telling her she has a very distinct style, with Meowth happily whispering that she means 'dis-stinked'. Nastina tells Team Rocket that if they are able to exterminate the Tentacools, the million bucks is theirs! Team Rocket are of course completely confident in their own abilities, and race out on their speed-boat with a big barrel of "Super Secret Stun Sauce that they're planning to put on the Tentacool, then catch them and sell them at a little sea-side restaurant they're going to open with the million bucks Nastina gives them.

That's Team Rocket for you, Masters of Legitimate Enterprise.

However, they've underestimated the size of the local Tentacool population, and roughly ten thousand of the little blighters surround the speed-boat, as one slides out of the water and blasts them with a ray from its 'Ruby Of The Sea', sending Team Rocket blasting off again and causing the barrel of Stun Sauce to explode over the Tentacool.... and from it emerges a giant Tentacruel, apparently mutated by the Super Secret Stun Sauce. Clutching Team Rocket in one massive tentacle, it decides to revel in the power now at its disposal, and immediately beelines straight for Nastina's half built Super-Luxury Hotel while the horrified citizens look on.

Brock can't understand, even at full height a Tentacruel is never bigger than 7 feet tall. Nastina and her beautiful boys don't understand either, but they seem to think they can deal with it by blasting at it with bazookas and her tank, but it does nothing but bring them to the monster's attention. Before they can fire again, Tentacool swarm all over them as Big Daddy charges forward, inadvertently pushing a tidal wave ahead of itself towards Porta Vista.

Ash grabs Misty and pulls her to safety as she cries out they need to protect... the giant Tentacruel! A tidal wave washes over the city, killing thousands..... or rather, killing nobody and doing surprisingly little damage as well! Jesse and James have ended up safe as well, thrown clear by the Tentacruel and left clutching to an antenna high and dry, but far too high to get down.

Nastina watches as the rest of her resort/amusement park inland gets destroyed, thanking her lucky stars she had insurance (her policy covers giant monster attack? You gotta love Japan), then blasts at the Tentacruel with a machine gun (why wasn't this episode banned like Legend of Dratini!?!) before getting washed away by another wave. The Tentacools and Tentacruels proceed to destroy the harbourside, and poor dumb old Ash turns to his fat yellow rodent and demands that Pikachu go out there and do something! Pikachu has more sense, of course, and even Ash realises quickly how dumb that was, but another Pokémon is already getting up close and personal with Tentacruel.... Meowth!?!

Held high by one of Tentacruel's tentacles is Meowth, and when Team Rocket spot him James thinks the Scratch-Cat has abandoned them. Jesse yells at him not to be so dramatic, trying to figure a way out of their current predicament, and gets her wish when another huge wave washing over them and knocks them off the pole. Creepily, a Tentacool wraps its tentacles around Meowth's head and forces its words through Meowth's mouth. Brock accurately guesses that the Tentacruel/Tentacools are communicating psychically through Meowth, which by a stroke of luck is one of the only Pokémon in the world that can talk to humans! Tentacruel explains that, since the humans have so callously destroyed the nature and environment of the Tentacools, then they will return the favour and destroy their homes.

Oh shit, humans hate nothing more than having the shit they pull get pulled on them!

Misty blames herself for some bizarre reason, and Horsea attempts to debate the issues with Tentacruel. The giant listens for a bit but eventually grows tired of trying to communicate, after all it didn't get all super-swole 'n' shit to TALK! It reacts with violence, smashing the water near Horsea with a tentacle and sending it flying through the air. Ash sends Pidgeotto to save Horsea, and it seems this is enough for Pikachu to rethink this whole "I'm a fat yellow rat I can't fight Jellyfish-Godzilla!" take on life. Setting out to kick some jelly-fish ass, it is joined by Pidgeotto, Zubat, Butterfree (ugh), Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Starmie, Staryu and finally Goldeen. Pikachu takes out some Tentacool, while the others do their own bit to push back the waves of Tentacools. Tentacruel puts an end to that, however, slapping them all aside as Misty rushes to their aid.

Tentacruel demands to know why Pokémon are helping destructive humans, and Pikachu - on Pidgeotto's back - tries its best to reason with it. The monstrous jellyfish communicates without Meowth's aid, making terrifying bubbling noises that are surely penetrating deep into the brain of poor little Pikachu, who is getting more and more upset/agitated at trying to communicate with the monstrosity. Tentacruel has had enough, and prepares to smash Pikachu with one gigantic tentacle when a lone voice cries out and gets its attention. Looking up, it sees Misty standing atop a building, calling out on behalf of the humans in the town she doesn't live in. She insists that they understand what has been done to it was wrong, and they're sorry, and they promise it won't happen again.

Tentacruel seems moved by the sincerity of her words, even though they only came AFTER the humans faced some consequences for their actions - the same humans who were eager to kill the shit out of the local Tentacool population in exchange for a million bucks only a few hours earlier. It informs Misty - through Meowth - that if this happens again, the attack will not stop. It then pitches Meowth into the resort, which finally collapses down over Jesse and James who are left dazed and in pain, though Meowth is pleased to have his own brain back.

Tentacruel and the Tentacools begin to head back out to sea, much to the relief of the townspeople... at which point motherfucking Nastina attacks them AGAIN! Lobbing bombs and firing machine guns (poor Legend of Dratini!), she is putting everybody at risk once again until Horsea blasts her in the face with hot oil (grosss!). Misty demands to know what is wrong with Nastina, echoed by Horsea which is pissed off too. Nastina could give a shit what she says though, yelling at her until a giant shadow falls over her - Tentacruel is back! Unbelievably, Nastina thinks Tentacruel has come to join her, and starts talking about teaming up to make a lot of money together! Seconds later it swats her away, just as Ash and Brock arrive too late to do anything. Misty watches Tentacruel disappear into the water, holding Horsea over her stomach and whispering that they won't forget.

On the other side (apparently, it seems unaffected by the flooding and property damage) of Porta Vista, Brutella is busily rebuilding her restaurant, destroyed by Team Rocket last episode. A screaming noise catches her attention and she turns to stare in horror as Nastina comes flying through the air and crashes right into her, destroying all the hard work Nastina has already put into rebuilding. Brutella moans that Nastina shouldn't just drop in on her like this, who replies that this is what cousins are for!

The kids meanwhile are finally getting out of the Porta Vista tourist trap, the ferry has arrived and they watch the island dwindling into the distance as they sail away. Ash asks Misty if she still thinks jellyfish Pokémon are cute, and she does! She thinks that "right now" Horsea is the cutest though, and calls it out of its Pokéball and rips off Ash's pose, much to his disgust.



She laughs that she always wanted to try it out, and Brock joins in on the needling by laughing that he might try it out too! A furious Ash begins ranting as Brock laughs that he should be flattered, while Pikachu joins Horsea on the rail to look out over the sea as the sun sets. Almost directly beneath them, trailing behind the ferry in a wooden container attached to the ship by a rope are Jesse, James and Meowth, looking dazed and exhausted after their experiences on Porta Vista as well. They moan that they'll get the kids next time, but for now it seems like all they can do just to lay there and be pulled along in their wake - a tradition likely to continue for just as long as this "fad" of a show continues!
